We Might be Utes

Moving is difficult. But honestly I'm not as sore  as I thought I would be. I've found a lot of random and unexplainable bruises. My forearms hurt the worst followed by  my peroneus longus and extensor digitorum longus muscles. Can you tell I was an anatomy student :) Those are the muscles on the outsides of your legs below the knee. And then my butt hurts too. But hey! I did it right? Our Sunday night was just delightful because Parker and Stephanie came over. This is from their reception but I wanted to post a picture. So I was making Chili Mac for dinner, a usual yummy recipe around here and as I was putting the spices in I was kind of eyeballing the measurements. I was spinning the mini lazy susan around with all my spices on it and tossing them in - Chili powder, cumin, ground red pepper, onion powder, cumin...? Wait I thought I already put cumin in... Turns out I mistook the cinnamon for ground cumin! So I just put a lot more cumin in to cover it up. Luckily i

My new phone came! Earlier than I thought too. I really really love it. like 60% because it's a great phone and it's nice but 40% because it was FREE (except the activation fee) but hey! I'll take it. It's like a million times faster than my old phone. I can actually do stuff now. Then I hung up all our pictures. I think they look wonderful. These are like the only pictures we have because I'm not spending extra money to decorate right now. Dan and I watched Super 8 after scrolling through Netflix and trying to decide on something. I've heard mixed reviews about it but I liked it! To me, although it was aliens, it was done in a way I hadn't seen before. I really enjoyed it, I thought the kids were hilarious (especially the blonde haired one who likes to blow stuff up), and it was super suspenseful. My heart was racing and I didn't know what was coming next. I tried to guess the plot but failed. Therefore it was unpredictable in my opin

Mr. Poppers Penguins

Image
We got Dan an early present. Okay so we both wanted it but he really  wanted it. So we bought (with a giftcard of course!). Meet Mr.  Poppers  Penguins. I JUST made that up, get it? It even looks like a penguin! I got a really good in action picture here! So that's exciting because now our popcorn (which is a food group of it's own according to Dan) is cheaper and healthier. He inhales that stuff! But I do have to admit, making it yourself, even just on the stove, tastes so much better! I also ordered this baby in the mail. Found it on Target.com for FREE . I guess the heavens were just looking out for me and didn't want me to spend $50 when I was trying to hunt one down last week. It should be here tomorrow. I'm pretty excited because my old phone is totally acting up. It knows it's being replaced and is totally throwing a dang hissy fit! The battery dies at like 2 pm everyday. Anyways I'm stoked because I love Dan's phone and we won'

A Valentine Weekend

Image
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I woke up to this! A heart-attacked kitchen   Ten hearts all saying something he loves about me And this is the kicker Heart shaped toast! Let me tell you it tastes so much  better in a heart because we don't have a heart shaped cookie cutter. Having to rip these himself definitely makes them full of love. And I added some decorations (the night before). We got cute packages from both our mothers full of goodies and festive things, so that was ahh-some! We had a nice evening together. Steak and home made french fries for dinner, complete with sparkling cider (that we might have had since our wedding...) and molten chocolate lava cakes for dessert. We were prettttty stuffed. They tasted waaaayyyy better than they looked. Recipe found here for all those wishing they had some :) (and you probably have ALL the ingredients already!) Then Dan proceeded to own me in Monopoly Deal. I spent Friday afternoon w

Ooooh look my blog looks different! I like to switch it up every once in a while. I'm really loving Moroccan patterns right now. So this might stay for a while, we'll see what I feel like tomorrow :) I got the awesome social media buttons here  and there's instructions on how to put them on your blog here . And lastly, I found this amazing website that's a digital scrapbook generator. It's bomb for blog backgrounds (like mine) so you don't have to make them. You can find that here . Maybe this is old news to the rest of the blogging world but that's okay because I thought it was awesome. Our daily routine has been the usual; class, homework, gym, dinner, meetings, tests etc. but we're doing good and keeping our grades way up! I forgot to post some recipes I made and enjoyed and I didn't get picture of the soup... oops. Tortilla Soup Dan isn't a huge  fan of soup but really, he'll eat anything. I decided to give this recipe a try beca

Food & Decor

First I want to start with some things I've learned about myself. Specifically things I can eat in large amounts. 1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch This stuff is terrible because I can eat bowls and bowls AND bowls of this. This is a pretty big deal because as you know I really try my best to be healthy and will think twice if I really want to eat something unhealthy or not. With this stuff I don't care and just grab the bag in the morning because it is so. dang. good. It not even worth it to put up a mental fight. It doesn't even have to be name brand! We got the western family kind and I seriously have to refrain myself from pouring a second bowl. I don't even bother looking at the label. It's useless and it won't convince me to stop. 2. Peanut Butter Cookies I made these last week for the Superbowl and I didn't bother to count how many I ate that night. My love for peanut butter is already a known fact but these are seriously the best pean

Once again, It's Wednesday  and I have written nothing. I guess I just feel like Monday and Tuesday are so boring but I always find something to write about anyways! This weekend was great! Sunday we had church which was great as usual. I honestly feel like I'm making friends and that's awesome because people need friends! For the Superbowl we went over to Ally & Cesar's. We brought little smokies, Daryl's Peanut Butter Cookies (aka the best cookies ever) and drinks to add to their delicious salsa, chicken and guacamole. We had a good spread. It's always good to spend time with them and to get to know their kids better. Maddux has the biggest man crush on Dan. Dan is just the cat's pajamas to Maddux. And baby Beckham is the cutest chunk I've ever seen. Monday I went grocery shopping we did the usual homework & gym thing. Although the ground was super frozen and was like ice! Not as bad as Utah but I had to catch myself a couple times.

Chaos of a Weekend

Friday. Did homework and grocery shopping planning all day. Then Dan and I did the Ab Ripper X. Kicked my butt like usual. Then I was like "Oh! For the game night tonight I'm going to make chocolate chip muffins!" We had one of those 'just add water' mixes. When I go somewhere for a get together, I just feel like I HAVE to bring something yummy. It's like part of my being. So anyways I was like yeah I'll make muffins bomb. I messed it up. How do you mess up a 'Just add water' recipe? Yes, it takes a certain kind of special to do this. You see I added to much water. 1 cup instead of 1/2 cup that basically instantly ruined it but I was thinking well... maybe I can fix this...? I added some flour. It got lumpy. Then I realized I the water I happened to add was HOT. The chocolate chips were melted. Lumpy, brown soup with chocolate swirls. This is a sting to me because baking is like... my thing . It's one thing I to well! Maybe because th
