I See Green

We had a great weekend! We went out to Texas Roadhouse one night because we had a giftcard, got a free appetizer and the food was bomb! We went to Taylor and Kathleen's wedding reception then headed over to a friends house for a game night. We went to my parent's for Sunday dinner and lost 3 times in a row while playing pandemic (that darn game!) And Monday was a paid holiday- isn't that always a good way to start off the week? Because it was our day off the CU organized a shift for us to volunteer at the Food Bank so Dan and I went! Here is some of our kids making food backpacks for kids to take home Dan and I were in the onion room. We were shoveling and filling 2 lb bags of frozen pearl onions. I didn't mind it at all. It was easy and fun. It definitely smelt like onions but that didn't bother be when I was there. When I got home though I thought hmmm my shirt smells like onions... I'll go change. I haven't blogged since Christmas/New Years because right after we got home from Colorado I got sick and didn't feel like blogging! We did enjoy the rest of our time in Colorado and spent New Years Days running through the airport. I've never had to sprint through an airport before but there's a first for everything! The express lane to check our baggage took WAAAAYYY too long (some express lane right?) which made security longer. We got off the train for the C Gates at 11:38am and our flight was supposed to leave at 11:45 because all the flight statuses said it was on time. We were bolting it up escalators, dodging elderly people with canes, frantically looking for our gate. We ran right up to and found the door closed. My heart sank and Dan asked a crowd near by what flight they were on. "Boise" What? Boise?! "They haven't even started boarding yet" Hallelujah!
