February was a WILD month for us and everyone else in Texas. It started out normal with beautiful weather then the snowpacalypse hit and threw us for a loop that took a full week to recover from. My best friend had her baby shower for her 3rd so we ended the month on a high note! Recently more construction is closing roads around my neighborhood causing there to be less entrances and exits. Combine that with all the trains and traffic has been AWFUL. I won't go out after 4 anymore, it took me 30 minutes to drive home from the park in our town. It's ridiculous. Before all the snow came the weather has been warming up and the boys have LOVED being able to roam free outback. Brooks also found that his sandals from last summer still fit which is great! He insists on wearing them with socks. Brooks dressed himself for church and I just had to document it. There were about 30 robins in our backyard and they were BIG and beautiful. Texas had a historic weather event with plummeting record-breaking lows, record amounts of snowfall. It’s the winter storm that seems to come once every 10 or so years they say. It was a WILD week. Skip to the end for some TLDR lists if you don't want the whole story. I was prepared for and expected rolling blackouts so when the power initially went out Monday morning I expected it and wasn't worried. But when hours and hours drug on and the house was getting colder and colder I started to worry. We kept the kids bundled in layers. Brooks  was NOT happy about that and he was mad I wouldn't let him play in the snow. We all stayed in the living room and completely shut off Carson's room. His room is the coldest (often 10 degrees lower) in the house. We set up the pack n play in Brooks' room and the boys shared a room during this.
