New School, New Job

Ahhhh! I feel like so much is going on and I'm just swimming along with it. On Sunday this happened: I'm a full on quilter now! And can I just say, MAN it is hard! Anyways we stole some knowledge and these quilting frames from our wonderful neighbors across the street. She makes quilts for the church humanitarian aid. Anyways, it was a huge help for me to figure out how to finish this thing because let me tell you - the universe DID NOT want me to finish. For reals though. The pinning and tying went pretty well so then I folded and pinned in the edges to sew later. Monday after work (I'll get to how that went!) I sat down to finally finish my quilt. I sewed almost the entire thing before the universe started to hate me. I had about three feet of edging left and my needle breaks . It hit a pin, I totally understand that, I'll pull the pins out better. Change the needle, tie the threads, re thread and sew again.  THE NEEDLE BREAKS AGAIN.

First Anniversary!

First of allI can't believe I forgot to post this photo Moving on It was our Anniversary on Sunday! One whole year! Man I remember when we first got married and seeing those couples that have been married for a year thinking, 'Yeah they got it all figured out!' I now realize that we all can just fake it really well and keep it together in public, am I right? But seriously, that year flew by- probably because it was spent with my favorite person. For our celebratory Saturday we started out with a day at the water park ! It has been a couple years since I've been but it was so fun! They had two new rides since I had been last and they ended up being my favorite and my least favorite. My least favorite was their newest one where you stand up and the floor drops from under you and you slide down this huge steep slide in like four seconds! I did it once, but it was terrifying and I got water in my brain. We got there right when it opened so we got to ride al

I've been going through a bunch of my old things as I try to purge all my stuff from my parents house. I have a whole year but thought I might as well get started. It was funny and awesome. I've kept so many things over the years. Some brought great memories, others reminded me of broken promises. All of it made me so grateful for the life and the person I am now. Overall I turned three big boxes into 1 so that's pretty good. Here are some of the random things I found. duck squishy pillow photo from Dance Nationals. Reagan and I were the hottest dice everrr  A lollipop from Disneyland I bought from that trip in 2008. I tried it. It tasted fine, it's just sugar. Then I threw it away. This is embarassing guys.. a sewing project from 7TH GRADE that I still have not finished. That's EIGHT YEARS AGO. I'm not trying to be a quitter.. but sometimes you just have to let things go... BUT on other things, you just have to keep going! Like thi

Camping

We went camping! And by we I mean Mom & Dad and Dan & I. We went to Bonneville Campgrounds- a place that we would often go when I was young. The best part about this campground is that it have a hot spring too! We set out on Friday and packed the car to the brim (my mother is a tetris master) and we drove to the camp. We got there and set up camp; tarps, tents, kitchen, food, laundry line etc and as soon as we could we headed down to the hot springs. In earlier years we've gone the hot springs have been pretty well kept. Sadly these last few years they've seemed to deteriorated a little bit. The big pool where we all used to spend our time in is scorching hot and covered with algae. There doesn't seemed to be enough water from the river to flow into that one. There was a pool further up that had a nice mix. A water fall of hot water from the top and a stream of cold water from the river. There were also varies pools south along side the river which were nice
