Nursery Reveal

Image
Seven  almost eight   months   later and Brooks' room is 90% finished. When I was pregnant I had no idea what I wanted to with his room and felt this weird pressure that it had to be pintrest-esque & perfect. Decorating is not one of my strengths, I really struggle to see how things look together. I'm late to the bandwagon and just got hooked on Fixer Upper and that has helped me a bit. Anyways, here we are. It's still not all the way done but I'll document it being mostly done. I realized that my ridiculous anxiety over the nursery not being  "perfect" is just that- ridiculous. This is not throwing shade at any of my friends who have put together beautiful nurseries- please, come help me! I've just reached a point where I'm content with what I have (what I've spent, I'm cheap) and how it looks. I imagine it'll change once we discover his likes and such. Plus there's usually toys all over anyways! I ended up having a blue, grey,

Five Recent Recipes

Now that Brooks is to the stage where I can actually set him down (ha! sometimes), I've being making some new recipes. Here are my recent favorites if you need some meal inspiration! All pictures are from their respected websites, I didn't think to take my own, sorry! One Pan Italian Roasted Sausage and Veggies Chop everything, toss in the oil and spices then bam! Cook and you're done. I served this over rice and it was delicious! Plus it's full of veggies, hello healthy. It's so versatile too. Throw any veggies you got in there. Sweet Potato Wild Rice Salad A friend from church made this for us after I had Brooks and I finally asked her for the recipe. This makes a lot and keeps well. I've been on a sweet potato kick lately after. I bought them for Brooks then realized how much I actually like them. Well I think they're technically yams...I don't know. ANYWAYS for this recipe you don't have to use wild rice, I've made it with

Graduation!

Brooks has graduated from his DocBand and we are so excited! He outgrew his first one and the doctor left it up to us whether we wanted to keep going or not. We decided to be done and that his head is perfect enough.  We're so happy we made this journey and looking back it seemed like it was short! Our pediatrician noticed Brooks favoring one side at 2 months. We repositioned him for 2 months. At his 4 month appointment she concluded he had Plagiocephaly. We went to Cranial Tech and they were awesome. He had his band for 9 weeks, started when he was 5 months and finished right before he's 7 months. He wore it for 23 hours a day after the initial breaking in period. We went through a bottle of rubbing alcohol cleaning it every night for 9 weeks. It took him a day or two to adjust to it and to adjust without it. I thought I would miss his helmet, but I don't! It was apart of him for the last 9 weeks and he looked pretty cute in it BUT I really love kissing him a

He's figuring out how to do things and is less frustrated and therefore I'm less frustrated. He can play or self entertain while I fold laundry, he can roll and scoot to (kinda) go where he wants to and he can sit up pretty well now. Grocery shopping is much easier now that he can sit up in the cart! He likes being out and about, looking at everything. Breastfeeding & Solids We started solids at six months and I wasn't planning on follow
