I Denied a Kiss from an Elderly Man

Image
I'm pretty sure Mondays with no school AND no work are absolutely the best. Doesn't is just sound heavenly? I didn't even ask for Monday off of work, but when I saw the schedule I wasn't complaining! We (actually more like I) slept in and Dan had breakfast ready right when I got up. What a man :) We did some homework because there is always school work to be doing but I was just happy I didn't have class or work. I'll take doing some homework! Then we decided to go see Iron Man 3 . We got ready, scarfed down a quick lunch and drove to Fat Cats (and got student discount matinee tickets!). We bought a large popcorn with extra butter (delightful!) and were totally ready for Iron Man. That is until the movie Epic started playing. Somehow it was easy to tell the difference. We (all 10 of us in the theater) migrated out and explained, then they fixed it! The movie was so good! I loved it! I would buy it and it thoroughly exceeded my expectations. When leaving Fat C

I Still Get Excited about the Ice Cream Man

Dan was gone Sunday - Wednesday this week and it wasn't fun. He was on an expedition with the college in Dallas, Texas for office visits, networking and interviews with account firms for future jobs. So while he was having an awesome time meeting people, being fed and seeing his sister and their family in Texas I was still in Idaho. I missed having him home. The house felt empty. And every sound I heard in the night was something that was going to kill me. I kept myself distracted with school and work, watched episodes of Lost during my free time and went to bed early. Dan and our new niece  Sydney . Isn't she so cute! I'm so jealous because I haven't got to meet her yet. Btw Dan looks like a natural dad, yeah? Monday I came home from class to find these hanging on my door! I was super confused at first but then saw it was a bag of delicious cookies from Dan's parents! They sent them with some friend who were coming back to Rexburg from Colorado. I def

Lasagna and Boise

So last week we tried out a lasagna recipe from Pioneer Woman that claims it was the Best Lasagna Ever . I was like hmmm... I've never made lasagna before... Dan likes lasagna... we'll try it! So we did and it was the best lasagna I've ever made (haha ;) ) But seriously, it was pretty good. It's an intriguing recipe too because it called for pork and ground beef and instead of the usual ricotta it calls for cottage cheese! Weird huh! Dan really doesn't like cottage cheese but it totally tasted just like ricotta in the recipe so don't let that freak you out. We decided for next time we would probably use less meat and used diced tomatoes instead of whole This weekend we went to Boise (again, I know!) for the state track meet. I skipped class on Friday and slept for about half the drive which was amazing. Friday night after the first day's events for state we had asked my mom to put together a dinner for the Madison track team. We didn't want them

We saw The Piano Guys ! It was AWESOME! Obviously I expected nothing less. I've been to a couple Jon Schmidt concerts before and they never disappoint. I made Dan buy tickets right when they went on sale. It was so great and they are so funny. Even if you don't really like piano concerts, you'll love this. Dan enjoyed it. Dan and mike went for another run. This time it was about 19 miles. He wasn't as dead after but I had to make him food because he didn't want to stand up. We made homemade pizza for dinner one night! It seriously was so good. Homemade dough and everything. We made 2 ham and cheese (we forgot we didn't have pineapple), 1 barbecue chicken and 1 buffalo chicken. We both agreed we like the barbecue chicken the best (Dan is literally begging for me to make it again). We obviously didn't care about the shape. It makes it more unique and it tastes better :) Saturday after work and his run we took an awesome nap and did

So Embarrassing

This weekend/week had a lot going on! Well not a lot of fun and crazy plans but just more of everyday things and homework We hit some wiffle balls behind the house. I'm getting better! and I took a picture of those chairs I was trying to describe a couple posts ago! aren't they cool! The chair and the desk can move all around After class one day I was sitting on a bench waiting for my ride. This guy comes around the corner and sits right next to me. He waited, then started talking to me. I didn't mind, and made conversation. I'll admit it was a little awkward.  He stood up but before he left he gave me this a pipe cleaner flower from his pipe cleaner belt that he made. Then he disappeared. Seriously, around the corner then he was gone. I'm not sure if I'll refer to that experience as anything but weird, but he was kind and it sure made me laugh! Maybe I just looked like I needed it haha Dan and Mike are training for a marathon tog

Oh hey! ..It's been a while.. because BOISE  SCHOOL  & WORK all happened but now I have time to catch up So last weekend we went to Boise for a track meet. The car ride was much more uneventful which was a blessing from heaven! (confused? Read this post ) We left after my class at 3pm and got there like 7:30. As we were driving in I had this big realization that man! I love this place! I snapped a picture of downtown as we drove by. Then we got there and ate a late dinner and as I went to unpack I saw this Woot Boise State! and girl scout cookies mmm.. That night we relaxed, played a game and I fell asleep because I worked that morning. Saturday Dan went to coach his vaulters and Chase got first this time! He jumped 14'6"! Right now he's ranked #1 in the state so we're all rooting for him to actually take state in a couple weeks. I'm so excited for both of them! Dan is so good with his athletes. He loves coaching and
