A Missionary Homecoming

Monday night we were sitting there and I was telling Dan how LAME we are because we weren't celebrating the little holidays. I told him we needed to celebrate St. Patrick's Day because we both even forgot to wear green that day! So he obliged and we went to Chick-fil-a to get green ice cream! I tried to get a picture but EVERY picture I took it just looks like normal ice cream. Just know that it was actually green :) One of the highlights of the week was when Dan made cinnamon roll waffles! He thawed out some frozen cinnamon rolls and cooked them in the waffle maker. Then he added some maple syrup to the glaze and we had them for dinner. They were delicious and I had been wanting to try that for a while. It made my day! On Friday we had a safari day at work and it was so fun! We all dressed up, made the branch look safari like, had balloons. I borrowed my dad's bull whip that he got in Mexico for fun and everyone loved it! We had free popcorn so the branch smelle

Running and Pee

I realized that I told everyone that I was starting a running program, which by the way is going great, but I didn't tell everyone about it! I'm doing the Couch to 5k program which is a well know running program to bring you from a 'couch potato' to a 5k! It's starts you off really easy and slowly makes it way up to a 5k (running for roughly 25mins) in 9 weeks. I'm starting week 4 tomorrow and it's still going really well! You can find the 9 week training outlines here at Cool Runnings or here for a cool print out . This is something that anyone can do with a stop watch! Personally though for me, I like to use and app. I use C25K Pro  because it was a free app of the day but there are plenty free ones like this one . I like using an app because I do better when I'm not puppy guarding a watch. The app talks to me over my music and tells me when to run and walk. I also have a setting in place to tell me when it's half way through and to turn arou

This week was weird. I feel like I say that frequently but this week was especially weird. Let's start at 4am. Why? Because that's the time I woke up. I sat straight up in bed but I wasn't sure why. Something jerked me out of my sleep to violently that I was now awake, attentive and had adrenaline running through my veins. I don't know why happened but I'm listening. Listening for what? I'm wondering. Then I hear it again. A blood-curdling scream. Not just a yell or a cry but a scream of desperation. It's when you yell so loud that you body is shaking and your voice is coarse. My first thought is to call the cops, but I just keep listening. Someone was yelling a name. "BRIAN!"  Who's Brian? At first we thought it was some crazy outside yelling at a Brian in our apartment complex. The voice was moving around and we couldn't tell where it was coming from. After taking a peek outside we realize it's out neighbor that shares a wall with

I started a running program this week. Please... don't look SO surprised. I've done the Couch to 5k program before but it was mostly on a treadmill. This time I want to do it outside and I want to run a race! My plan was to do the Famous Potato 5k here in Boise. What inspired me to do this? That's a good question. Except for dance and gymnastics any other time I've worked out it's because I felt like I needed to change my body to live up to a standard. For a while I stopped working out because I didn't enjoy it. I was doing it for the wrong reasons. I decided to maintain my weight and love who I was and I did! I was really successful with embracing myself. Then the holiday break came and I found myself having to sprint through an airport to catch our flight. I was embarrassingly out of breath and my chest was burning. Then the thought dawned on me What if I had my bags with me? or What if I had children with me?  Suddenly I found a reason that was applicable t
