Random Thoughts

Carmageddon II is what they're calling the 10 mile closure of a freeway in Los Angeles. I realized if they closed 10 miles of the highway back home that's pretty much the whole highway. Then I googled it and Boise to Meridian is exactly 10 miles. Small town problems

If I see Hoarders while flipping through the channels I seriously have to stop and it sucks me in.

My jaw is killing me! This comes and goes but when it comes it hurts. One side gets so sore that I can't open it all the way. It pops when it opens too :/ I'm wondering if I need to research it or something. I try to make sure I don't clench my jaw because I know I do sometimes; at night, when I'm focusing or stressed. And I try to make sure I don't chew gum too often cause when I chew it I like pulverize it and that hurts my jaw.

Currently addicted to Lost. On season two!

It's not fall here. It's 70-80's all the time and it's hot. I miss punkins, cold, boots, leaves, jackets, cute hats and basically everything else.

End of Randoms

Wednesday night we had the missionaries over for dinner! Elder Smallwood and Elder Searcy. It was great! I made Shepherd's Pie (a home favorite but I've never made it before that night) with salad and bread then had a spectacular dessert, Mud Hen Bars which was also a new recipe and a major hit!

Pictures from their respective websites
Dan can tell you that I was super nervous cause these were new recipes and I was worried that it wouldn't be good or that they wouldn't like it. Heck, I worry about this even when it's just Dan. Cooking is something I love and I like hosting and making people happy so I want the food to be good. It's one of the things that I really take pride in and I wouldn't ever serve food that tasted bad- throw it out without anyone knowing and make some pizza right?! I don't know, that's just me.

So after Dan laid it out and said, "It's meat, cheese and potatoes, how could they not like it? They're guys!" The fact that the Elders devoured all the food and helped themselves for seconds definitely made me happy! Missionaries are awesome. Really if you ever feel bad about your cooking invite the missionaries over.

We had a great evening talking about our connections- people from Colorado that Dan and Wade know, people from BYU that Wade and I know - it was fun. After we talked about testimonies and Elder Smallwood had an object lesson that Dan loved haha It was hands on and messy - of course he liked it! I wish I would have gotten a picture but we had an enjoyable night :)

Friday night Dan's friend at work invited us to go Go Karting with him and his wife and another couple. None of the wives wanted to actually go kart, we just came to socialize. The men had way too much fun though. It was fun to meet new people, make new friends. Afterwards we went to Dewar's to grab some much needed ice cream! These are the only picture I got- he was just too fast!

Conference
Saturday and Sunday were the LDS General Conference. It was wonderful to be able to watch the prophets of God with my husband :) Friday night he even came home from the priesthood session with a strawberry lime aid from Sonic. He's so sweet! Also in my family it's a tradition to have orange rolls the Sunday morning of conference and Dan and I still love to do that so he made the orange rolls Sunday morning too :) He's great.

This week we don't have any big plans other than Dan's 10k this Saturday. I'm so excited for him! At the end of it is a dirty dash thing too. Definitely need to hose him down after that!
