Where the heck is Bakersfield?
That was my very first reaction when Dan said he’d been
talking to a company there about an internship. Remember Tennessee? Well we
haven’t heard anything from them and although we really wanted to go there,
we’ve been getting really antsy about knowing where we’re going to live this
fall. Dan is a perfect candidate for them in Tennessee but we’re kind of
getting the impression that it takes them a while to get back to us. So like a
responsible fiancé, Dan started looking other places to fill our need for an
internship.
Dan expressed interest in a company in Bakersfield,
California and they returned that interest in him. After exchanging information
and having a phone interview they offered him an internship for this fall!! Dan
and I talked about it for a day and accepted it, so it’s official. We’re going
to Bakersfield! And for those of you who are like me, this is where it is.
Kinda in the middle
of nowhere but apparently it’s the 3rd biggest country music city.
Like number 1 is Nashville 2 is somewhere in Texas and 3 is Bakersfield. Who
would have thought? I originally thought it was a smaller town but by looking
at a map… I think I’m wrong. Right now we're working of getting it approved through the school. It’s great pay and would be September through
December. We feel good about it and we’re excited to go hang out in California
for a semester! We’re not too excited about all the driving we’ll be doing but
oh well, it’s part of the adventure right? We are so excited and so grateful that God answered our many prayers for an internship. We feel so blessed :)
