Brooks is such a happy, funny and sweet boy. He loves to wrestle and rough play but he's also very tender. He doesn't like getting in trouble and immediately feels genuinely sorry and apologizes. He's so goofy and curious. He loves to make people laugh and he especially loves to say Hiiiii to everyone at the store. He has started to get frustrated and throw fits when he can't do what he wants but we just roll with the punches.

Some of you know, but 18 months is a big deal for us! Why? Because he can go to nursery at church now, yahoo! Brooks has been ready to go to nursery for MONTHS now and this will be really helpful for Dan and I. Dan is the Scoutmaster and Deacons adviser so he teachers 3rd hour every other week. I'm in the presidency and 2 out of 3 Sundays I'm conducting or teaching sharing time. Brooks has frequently been passed around our awesome ward family and we teach and fulfill our callings, but now he goes to nursery!

The first week we took him he ran right in and never looked back. He devoured his snacks and tried to go for others'. He loved it! Second week not so much! Prayers that was a fluke and week 3 will be great.

Since he's so active I went to a couple of gymnastics classes at The Little Gym to see if he'd be interested. He liked them but honestly he liked starting out the window more! So I didn't enroll him, maybe we'll see if he's interested next year.

Diet & Sleep

Brooks and I got the stomach flu in March and that's one of the first times Brooks has truly been sick. Maybe a small cold once and allergies. It's so so sad to see these little bodies throw up. I can see how scary and confusing that would be for him. Luckily he only had it for 12 hours and most of that was during the night. Lots of vomit cuddles, sheet changes and laundry in the middle of the night. Then 4 days later I got it! When it started I was thinking I can do this, 12 hours, a couple throw ups It'll be ok. I was wrong and had it way worse. Every hour all. night. long. Man taking take of a toddler when you're sick like this is near impossible. Brooks could tell something was wrong and would stroke my face and softly say, "Mama?" But then again he would also follow behind me when I made my trips to the bathroom and laugh at all the weird noises I was making.

After recovering from that he started getting back to normal with eating. He eats a lot but seems to have more of an opinion about what he eats which can be tricky. He's still sleeping great, 12 hours at night and 1.5-2 hours during one nap in the day.

When we went to his 18 month appointment Brooks freaked out! I mean I can't blame him but I wasn't expecting THAT MUCH. He wasn't just crying, he was screaming and wailing and fighting in pure fear. Poor guy! Over simple things too like sitting on the scale, measuring his head and laying down for height. It was a pretty rough morning for him but he took an excellent nap afterwards!

 RIP Penguin Bink

Overall he's healthy, happy and right on track developmentally. We love him to pieces!
