Attack of the Bug (25 and 26 week update)

How far along
25 weeks (a little over 5 and a half months)
Baby is as big as a:
Cauliflower
Total weight gain:
12 lbs
Maternity clothes:
I hate pants! Why do none of them fit? I'm in the middle of sewing the maternity clothes so I can see how those are before I need to spend money on some.
Sleep:
Dan has been gone at scout camp this week and as long as I put pillows in the bed where he should be, I can sleep just fine. It's fun to go to sleep and wake up to baby moving.
Movement?
I guess speaking of movement yes! And although it's still very faint on the outside Dan was able to feel it!
Best moment this week:
I'll probably eventually regret saying this but it's now to have some sort of bump now! I feel like I look more pregnant than fat now.
Weird pregnancy moment:
I looked down and was surprised at my bellybutton. All the sudden I can see like... IN it. It looks like it's betting bigger as it's being pushed out! It's in the beginning stages of being an outie from baby and it weirded me out at first.
Symptoms:
Restless leg. Sudden HUNGER. Growing pains
Food cravings:
Sugar. Chocolate. Ice Cream. My iron-will of healthy eating is suddenly not so iron. From never eating treats regularly to having one here and there, I think I'm okay. MILK. My favorite snack is cereal.
What I'm looking forward to:
Not looking forward to my glucose test. In college I had to drink enough of those for a research experiment. I was going to say my next ultrasound with the specialist but that is farther away then I initially thought and my birthday comes before that! So I guess my birthday!

As many of you have seen on social media I walked into our bedroom to find THIS just hanging out on my pillow! Dan wasn't home so I freaked out and went all ninja on it to kill it. Then flushed it down the toilet and washed my pillowcase.

But to make up for it I looked out the window and saw THREE bunnies just hanging out! Usually I've seen one... maybe two but three! What a treat for me.

I mentioned before how I'm being more careful when I stretch throughout the night and in the morning… well one morning I was not so careful and caused the most painful charlie horse at 4am. Holy cow it hurt! I've periodically had them before but I seem to be more prone to them while pregnant. I haven't mentioned this because it was happening so slowly it was hard to notice but I am experiencing a very normal shortness of breath. I've noticed I can't just sit, lay or lounge however I want because I can't breathe deep enough. It's uncomfortable to bend over or lay on my stomach and sometimes I suddenly get tired. I don't feel fatigued but the other night it was 7:30 and I thought it was my bed time!

I've been sewing! I'm very happy with how these turned out considering I was mostly just wingin it. The brown shorts were originally long brown cargo pants from Motherhood that had straps to be pulled up into capris. These were trendy around 2005-2009. They're so lightweight that they'd be a perfect summer fabric. I decided to make shorts out of them. I cut and hemmed them then took the legs and crotch in a little bit so they didn't look like basketball shorts! I'm happy with how they turned out and think they'll be great in the Texas heat and humidity.

This second pair was just an ordinary pair of maternity flair jeans also from Motherhood. I decided to make these into shorts too by following the pattern of my loved pair of denim shorts from DownEast that I almost can't button anymore. These were pretty quick. Cut, measure cuff in mirror (realize you cut them uneven ha! recut), sew the hem, cut off the extra then finish with a roll. I did it this way because I love the cuffed look at the bottom. I didn't need to take these in on the legs. They're a nice mix of not too tight and not too loose.

I still have about 5 more pairs to go that I'll be making into either shorts or capris so I can survive this summer. If I'm ever pregnant in winter months, I'll probably have to invest in some full length jeans. Or better yet, I'll just wear leggings!

(sorry for the squinty eyes, it's so bright outside!)
How far along
26 weeks (Practically 6 months!)
Baby is as big as a:
Coconut
Total weight gain:
 13 lbs
Maternity clothes:
Maternity pants are a must at this point, however all my shirts still fit! Some are more snug than others.
Sleep:
Sleep is still great! I have had some crazy dreams but that comes with the territory
Movement?
So. Much. Movement! The kicks are so strong you can totally feel them from the outside and sometimes I can even see them! It's crazy and amazing all at the same time.
Best moment this week:
Actually seeing my stomach move when the baby's moving! It was crazy. His kicks are getting much stronger and he's most active around 2 and 8 pm right now. It's so fun to have a constant reminder all day of baby boy.
Weird pregnancy moment:
I had another moment this week where I suddenly had the realization, "OH MY GOSH. WE'RE HAVING A BABY" I'm not exactly sure when reality will sink in (hello we're 6 months in here) but it's coming slowly! Also Target was having a good diaper sale so we stocked up on some diapers.
Symptoms:
I'm constantly hungry. I feel like now I definitely look pregnant and it's not that I might have gained weight. I will still be surprised sometimes when I look in the mirror. It's shocking to see your body change!
Food cravings:
Still not at the stage where I have to have something but I'm still enjoying cereal (Frost Mini Wheats, Honey Bunches of Oats and Raisen Bran Crunch are my favs) and I've been digging PB&J this week too.
What I'm looking forward to:
Although I don't enjoy drinking sugar water, I am excited to get that test over with and make sure baby and I are healthy. Plus I'm always more excited to go to a baby Dr. appointment than work!

I made Dan a cherry pie for father's day (his favorite)

My Aunt Sue sent us this week baby gift! How cute is this?!

I can still see my toes... for now

This is Wise County Court House. We were right across the street eating dinner with out neighbors but I thought this building was just so pretty!
So we were in Decatur trying out this place called Sweetie Pie's and it was so good! It's a lot like the feel of Babe's (they're owned by the same people) when you walk in. The good was delicious, we really enjoyed it. One cool thing is that periodically the waitresses will take a break from their tables and sing live! They all sounded really good it was neat!
