I had my appointment this week. Just a quick check up. Heart rate is 150's, I have super low blood pressure, and my test came back negative for glucose and protein so all good news! I was so excited to hear that heartbeat again! That's all I needed to be reassured.  Having little to no baby bump and not being able to feel anything yet makes you second guess if everything is okay in there. I think I'm finally over the morning nausea and I've being trying to find tricks to avoid/get rid of headaches. I'm drinking so much water and making sure I'm getting enough sleep. One morning I felt particularly good when I made a breakfast smoothie (frozen banana, frozen strawberries, flax seed and water) and sipped on it while I get ready. Although I woke up with a headache that morning getting fluids in me that early seemed to help. This might become a habit if it continually works.  AH WE'RE HAVING A BABY! It's still surreal and crazy for me to think about.

We just scheduled our anatomy sonogram appointment and my doctor let me schedule it earlier than I thought! We get to find out the gender of the baby so soon and we're so excited!

Dan and I also made some grown up purchases this week. We bought a new mattress! We bought a Tuft & Needle King sized mattress. They're basically marketed as a memory type foam mattress without the ridiculous store mark up $$ After reading lots of reviews online and on social media we honestly couldn't find a better deal. Plus they have a 100 night sleep trial to change your mind so we went for it. They delivered the box in the morning while Dan and I were at work. So there was a giant box on our doorstep all day and we were hoping it wouldn't be taken. Then again if they can get away with an 100lbs box without the neighbors noticing then they can have it!

The mattress comes rolled up in a vacuum sealed bag. You're supposed to unroll it, then cut open the bag and watch it expand. As we were unrolling it I was surprised how small it was. We even double checked the box at this point because it was smaller than our current bed. We had no idea it would expand so much. But before we could be concerned for too long we noticed we accidentally ripped a hole in the vacuum seal. The mattress started expanding in this little little bag it's trapped in and it was a race against the clock to rip the rest of the bag off so it could fully expand. It looked pretty funny in the process though!

It expanded SO MUCH. It's amazing that they fit this huge mattress in this (relatively) little box and somehow it comes out looking amazing and brand new. So at this point we've moved our bed into the guest bedroom and now we have this new mattress on the floor.. which we don't have sheets for. Hmm where should we sleep? I really wanted to try out the new bed so I put some sheets over it and created a makeshift mattress cover. We have since ordered sheets and a new frame, yay! Now I have to pick out the comforter, ugh so hard!

Now when it comes to the new mattress so far I love it. The first two inches is velvety soft foam that cradles you but you don't feel sunk. The layers under that are firm and supportive. Most people describe it as a 7 out of 10  in firmness. I find it so comfortable! The first few nights I kept waking up confused in the middle of the night like, 'Where am I?' because it felt different however once I got used to it I slept like a rock! We would so recommend Tuft & Needle.

We survived another busy season! Out of the two we've experienced with this company this one was definitely busier and more stressful than last year however, Dan was also in town more this year than last year. So it's a catch 22 for me. I'm happy they're winding down and that we can have more time for baby preparations! Yay! GUYS. WE'RE HAVING A BABY!

I FEEL NORMAL!
This is finally the 'honeymoon' stage my doctor described to me. You feel normal, don't really look pregnant and you wake up wondering if you really are pregnant. This week was SO FUN! Dan had a work recruiting trip at BYUI and I went with him! We worked Monday & Tuesday then we were gone until the next Monday. And of course I was baking cookies on Sunday are you surprised?

We flew out on Wednesday in Salt Lake then drove up to Idaho Falls. It ended up being cheaper and quicker that way. One of the partners were with us and we stopped at In N Out for lunch, This is HUGE guys! I ate my first hamburger since January! I haven't been able to stand beef during this pregnancy but all my food aversions are gone! So happy that I can enjoy a hamburger again! We got to Idaho Falls and Dan's company took the BYUI Accounting professors out to dinner that night. Lucky me, I gfiot to go too! They took them to Stockman's Steakhouse and although I couldn't a medium filet mignon, I did have the best basil artichoke pasta of my life! Also the hot fudge sundae for dessert was also quite delicious. I would have taken a picture... but it wasn't quite appropriate in that environment!

The next morning Dan and I had breakfast with my parents who drove over to spend the day with me while Dan worked. After breakfast, we dropped Dan off at the hotel then realized we didn't really plan anything for our entire Thursday. We flew by the seat of our pants and ended having a really fun day! First stop? The Idaho Potato Museum. After living here almost our entire lives we figured we needed to go.

World's largest potato chip!

It was free admission because they were under construction and we learned about the origin of potatoes! After the museum we decided to randomly show up on people's doorsteps! Doing what we do best ;) We went and saw my cousin Allyson and her three kiddos and by then it was lunch! We grabbed food then went and saw my Great Aunt and of course brought ice cream! Then we went and visited my Aunt Kris at her work! I pushed my belly out as much as I could for this picture.

After that we headed up to Rexburg where my parents dropped me off on campus. Dan's company was hosting a bowling activity that night for some of the accounting students so I went to help, socialize and eat food! Earlier that day Dan and the partner attended the Student Accounting Society and they had more than 200 students come!! There's not a ton of people who attend the student societies for any major so this was a huge success!

The next day all the work was done so the rest of the time was play for the both of us. Dan had never been to Yellowstone so we went. I was starting to get worried when it was snowing as we entered the park (you can't pack appropriate warm clothing for that in a carry on!) but the sun came out just in time for us!

We saw SO MANY bison! They were everywhere including the parking lots.

I thought this was funny. It's interesting how people from other places around the world do things differently.

Old Faithful! I guess I shouldn't have been surprised at really how faithful it was? The geyser shot up within a minute of their predicted time. I see why they call it that now...

We switched hotels for the night and had the BEAUTIFUL view of the Idaho Falls temple. Serene. Also this hotel was awesome because they served me the most gourmet hot chocolate of my life. I should have taken a picture! That evening we also met up with one of the students Dan coached in track who also happened to serve in the same mission Dan did. It was great to catch up with him!

The next day we drove back down to Utah and got their just in time for lunch with Ryan and Kate! So fun catching up with them and comparing pregnancy stories!

We had to stop by the new Provo City Center temple! There were like 4 wedding parties there while we walked around the grounds and I just loved looking at the new brides. Weddings are so fun!

I don't think I took any more pictures but we visited Dan's friend Josh and his wife Hannah (who by now just had their baby!) then met up with Dan younger brother Joe for some dinner and ice cream. We went to Rubio's because I LOVE their steak tacos and we don't have one around us. And I don't remember the last time I went but The Creamery's ice cream is on point! Our last stop of the evening was visiting one of Dan's aunts! The last time we saw them we just showed up on their porch unannounced asking if we could sleep there haha!! They are the kind of people that are like, "Absolutely! Come on in! Have you eaten?!" Family is the best.

We stayed at out friends Ryker and Courtney's house (which was SO cute!) and got to be with them and their 7 month old baby who we hadn't met yet. It was such a fun time and they are seriously some of the nicest people ever! We love them and that they opened their home for us. We went to church with them then spent the rest of our Sunday visiting Dan's other Aunt who was closer to where we were staying. I loved being able to see family and catch up! Especially since it's been a while since we've been able to visit.

The next day we got up and flew home! It's good to be home in the warm weather but I will miss the mountains and the dry air. Dan's skin was super dry but I thought it felt great! Plus I felt like my hair was finally behaving. This was an awesome trip to see family and friends that we haven't seen in a while!

(I tried my best to show any beginnings of a bump)

I've been feeling good! Pretty normal still, here's a run down for ya!
How far along
19 weeks (+4 days if we're talking RIGHT NOW. Almost 5 months if you're not fluent in pregnancy)
Baby is as big as a:
Mango
Total weight gain:
4 lbs
Maternity clothes:
The skirt in the above picture was a 'maternity' purchase because it's stretchy and I needed a staple black pencil skirt. I'm still using the Bella Band everyday for my suit pants. Jeans still fit!
Sleep:
Great! The new bed (that we now have sheets for) rocks!
Movement?
You know, I think so, especially this week. Once I have definitely felt the baby I may look back and be like, 'Oh yeah! I've felt that before.' People say it feels like gas bubbles but you don't have gas and that would be a pretty good description of what I felt along with some muscle twitches.
Best moment this week:
Prepping to find out the gender!
Weird pregnancy moment:
I put the milk in the cupboard. It was strange.
Symptoms:
Round ligament pain. I turned over in the night at the wrong angle and it hurt!
Food cravings:
None really. I like sandwiches though!
Food aversions:
I'm pretty sure they're all gone! Although chili is still not my favorite.
Gender:
We find out TOMORROW!! I honestly have no idea but if I HAD to guess, I would guess boy.
What I'm looking forward to:
TOMORROW!! If the baby cooperates!

Dan got me these beautiful flowers and I was burning a new candle I got from bunco with my sister in law. I haven't been to a bunco night in forever but man it was fun!

We were making our normal BBQ chicken pizza for dinner but Dan had the great idea of doing everything on the grill. Grilled chicken, grilled peppers & onions and THEN even make the pizza on the grill! I was afraid the dough would fall through the grill but it totally didn't! The pizza turned out so good!

Happy Mother's Day to all the women who have influenced other's for good! I've had to many mother figures in my life but of course my own mother is my personal favorite. I feel so blessed to be able to carry a child but I am always thinking of those whose lives have gone differently than they planned, regardless of their pleas to Heaven for children. Adam called Eve the 'Mother of all living' before they ever had children. All women have motherly qualities and potential that should be recognized. I am so grateful to all women, sisters, mothers, teachers, mentors and healers who uplift, serve and love!
