October

We started our month celebrating Brooks and watching General Conference so that called for cinnamon rolls.

We threw Brooks a small paw patrol party and he had the best time! We bought a pull string Chase piƱata with 16 strings and what do you know, Brooks gets it first string! Brooks had a wonderful birthday and we loved celebrating him. I can't believe he's 4!

Brooks decided his Shark was thirsty haha!

Who knew woody was a monster truck driver?

Kate made Brooks these adorable Bluey characters for Brooks' birthday. How cute are they!

I made cookie butter filled white chocolate chip cookies. They were divine!

Brooks got to spend some of his birthday money at Five Below and look what we found there for Dan. Bean Boozled with crazy hot jelly beans. I got brave and decided to try the lest spicy one, siracha and it gave me a run for my money! It was so hot! I have hiccups, I thought I was going to throw up, I was crying and drinking milk. I thought maybe my capacity to handle spice had gone up in recent years. Nope, apparently I'm still a pansy!

One of Carson's top tooth finally broke through! How did we know? Because it was a bleeder! With carson drooling so much he looked like a little vampire baby drooling blood.

We print these large coloring sheets for our primary each general conference and even though Brooks doesn't LOVE coloring we do enjoy doing these together.

I made oatmeal creme pies and they were so good! I made them too big but still so good. The recipe is from Joanna Gaines' Magnolia V2 cookbook.

Carson and Brooks had a joint doctors appointment for a 9 month and a 4 year check up. Both did well considering waiting for the doctors always seems to take forever. Brooks got 3 shots (yikes!) and Carson just got the flu shot. Both did excellent and neither cried which was very surprising to me. So I took Brooks to get a Happy Meal to celebrate.

What a fun treat to have Grave Digger at our local walmart! We live in a semi small town away from the center of Forth Worth, there's not a lot out here in our actual town yet so I was so surprised they chose our walmart. Brooks loved it.

We had a great Halloween! We made treats and Boo'ed people, we painted and carved pumpkins, listened to halloween music and made fun mummy hot dogs for dinner. We ate donut off strings for breakfast for a fun game. Our neighborhood was all about making sure kids could still trick or treat and still keep those safe who are worried. They did a trick or treat for immunocompromised families from 4-5 then the rest of the kid would start at 6:30 or so. Lots of people pre bagged candy, set tables out or just set their candy bowl out to avoid close contact. It was so great to feel very normal for a night and Brooks had a blast. We did a lap around the block, dumped his bucket at home and hit some more streets and he got another full bucket. Candy for days!

He dumped it all out and Carson loved crawling through it and spreading it everywhere haha! Every though Carson did get to eat any, (he tried!) loved looking at it and throwing it around.

We had a great Halloween with these two cute fireman! I don't know how it's already November. It's weird how the year can feel so fast even if we've been in a pandemic for a majority of the year. We're now seeing another rapid spike in cases. We're not sure if more shutdown will come because of it. Other states and cities already have but I'm not sure what Texas will do. Thankfully we don't know many people who have gotten it and so far have been able to stay very safe and healthy which we are so grateful for.
