August

August (like usual) was a HOT month. I'm not sure why my parents chose August to visit the surface of the sun a.k.a. Texas ;) but they did. Luckily for the first few days they brought some rain with them!

Before they came we had some small adventures like weird reactions to bandaids

Seeing giant lizards

and buying Brooks a mini trampoline like this one

At first he was afraid of it? Then once he realized what it was for, he loved it.

My parents came to visit from Idaho and I'm pretty sure they had the best time. How could they not! It's Brooks! He loved having them here and we did a lot of fun things together! They brought him this singing fish bubble gun which he was also afraid of at first.

Saturday morning I went to a baby shower while everyone else started partying at our annual block party. It was kind of rainy but that didn't stop anyone from going down the water slide!

Brooks' face after his first time!

It was a fun day with the neighbors, good food and what a fun slide!

On Monday we went to the Fort Worth Museum. There's a lot of cool things there especially for Brooks' age. Plus the Planetarium movie with Elmo and Big Bird was his favorite yet again.

We ate lunch at Railhead BBQ and got inside just in time for a Texas rainstorm to blow through. We were lucky because it was POURING.

After naps Grandpa couldn't resist playing in the rain! We tried building a boat for the drain but it didn't work so we biked instead. Look at those happy faces!

 Hiding under his trampoline

The next day we rain some errands along with some other shops. Daiso, Costco, Eye Dr, the church. Then had lunch at a sushi and ramen place. Brooks looked so cute with his mini bento box!

Then we spent that day at the Zoo! It was a bummer that the new giraffe exhibit wasn't open but we still had a good time seeing all the animals. Brooks is an expert at animals noises ha! I think my favorite was the monkeys because they were the most active I've ever seen them. Jumping around, wrestling, howling and playing. It was so cool to watch!

Sharing peaches with pa pa.

We ended August by celebrating our anniversary. We went to Cinnamon Creek ranch and shot some archery. It was very fun and I did better than I thought I would!

Brooks and I ended the month with a few spills and his first bloody nose. Only took him almost 2 years!
