February

I'm finding myself taking less and less pictures with/of Brooks because most of them are blurry! He is so fast now! If you're needing more Brooks in your life I constantly overshare on my Instagram stories.

February was a lot like January. Lots of play dates, outdoorsy fun (sometimes) and staying busy with the exception that my parents came to visit! More on that later.

These two are the sweetest! This is Maggie and they are besties. It's so funny to watch them interact and learn (more so on Brooks' part) how to be social.

Valentines Day is just one of those holidays that we don't go all out and celebrate. I mean I like expressing my love and going out on a date but we're not spending thousands of dollars on each other. I guess our love language is more like heart shaped pizza!

Dan was out of town for a week for work so I nudged my parents and said, "Heyyy.... want to come keep me company?" and it worked out! My dad stayed for the weekend and my mom stayed all week. It was awesome! The only bummer was that the weather didn't cooperate. It downpoured (and I mean POURED) for a week straight! Brooks loved having his Grandma and Papa here. He wasn't afraid of them one bit and loved all the attention and love. Plus it was a huge help that they were able to watch him and put him to bed Saturday (for a date) and Sunday night (for a church event).

The weather cooperated one day for us to visit the zoo. It was humid and 75 but we were happy!

We had a great time! I think Brooks especially liked the elephants and the wobbly bridge. I was sad because the bird exhibit where they fly freely around you was closed. I know he would have loved that.

We worked up an appetite and when to lunch at Velvet Taco. It was one of the best tacos I've had in my life! Totally would recommend. Then afterwards we walked to Sweet Sammies. They do ice cream sandwiched with homemade cookies and bluebell ice cream. FOOD COMA

We ventured out to the outlet mall one of the other days in the rain then ate at Meat U Anywhere BBQ for lunch before we said goodbye to my dad. BBQ places are great to take Brooks (and kids in general) because they can be messy and loud and there's always something Brooks will eat (meat and beans!). Obviously in these pictures you can see he's living his best life ha!

We said goodbye to my dad and dropped him off at the airport for his flight to get delayed, oops! Brooks was so funny and kept giving grandma kisses instead of grandpa. Grandma didn't mind!

The next couple days it RAINED and POURED BUCKETS. I know we personally saw 6.5" of rain and some areas were 7-10". We stayed inside, watched movies, baked, played. We went shopping on a day when it was lightly pouring and had a great time. We took Brooks to the candy store and let him pick out a treat. I found some great clothes for me and Brooks (thanks Grandma!). And after all that rain and the sweat of the windows we ended up with a lot of condensation pooling up.

Ok I love this photo. Brooks' butt. Bronco butt haha! What are the odds?

Dan came home from Virginia and we had to saw goodbye to Grandma. Brooks didn't realized what had happened until we got home and he couldn't find her. He was so sad! We had such a fun week together (except for that darn rain!)

I snapped this quick pic on a Sunday morning. Half dressed playing the piano, how sweet!

Then when he was fully dressed for the day- LOOK AT THIS OUTFIT. New favorite!! He looks so handsome in it!

With a new week started and everything back to normal I got back to working out. I've gotten a lot of questions of what workouts I'm doing and how I stay so consistent. I work out at home with some weights and a yoga mat. I use Ultimantum by Lindsi Sanor. Lindsi is my mom's trainer in Idaho. I love the workout videos I have! They're unique, they keep me interested, it's a mix of cardio and weights and I really enjoy it! I stayed motivated because after I stopped breastfeeding Brooks, I started seeing numbers on the scale that I've only seen when pregnant! I guess nursing was working miracles for me and now I have to put in more work ha!

Anyways, it's my first day back after a week off and 10 minutes into my workout Brooks dropped the 10 lb weight off the couch onto his foot. Poor thing was just beside himself! I thought it might be broken but after watching it for a couple hours it was just bruised.

We had a rough couple of days in there mixed with teething and me not feeling great.
The solution? Snuggling.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with Brooks' hair or if we should just cut it short again. I bought some styling wax and just messed around before bath.
Here we have the 2005 fo hawk

Business comb over

and the ski jump!

And the last thing worth noting even though it actually happened in January is that I painted out fireplace. I'm trying to redecorate our main living room and I knew the fireplace needed a change from the boring beige that blended in with the rest of the room. I first plastered and puttied it because the stone had tons of little holes. Then I sanded it, caulked around the edges, primed and painted it. I love how it turned out and it brightens up the room.

Now I just need to find some artwork for the walls!
