Robison Roadtrip
We started our week long road trip to Texas! I was so excited because I hadn't seen Dan in over two weeks. It was also hard because seeing him meant leaving my job. My last day was bittersweet. My coworkers did a potluck for lunch and one of my sweetest members who I call Grandma Jean, contributed to the party. She brought the best potato salad I've ever had! It was so sweet. Grandma Jean also gave me a gift before I left, could she get any sweeter?!
My coworkers got me a nice card and we ate good food! I repaid them by making pumpkin cookies earlier that week. Good trade right?
Then I was off to meet Dan in Utah. It was so good to see him again! While in Provo we ate lunch at J-Dawgs because I had never been and it was so good. That night was Dan's mission reunion up in Sandy so we drove up there. His mission president lives in a country club. They showed us where to park and then we were given rides up to his house. Fanccyyy right? It was a good party with good food. It was fun meeting the people that Dan served with.
We went out for lunch with my family then went and hung out with Dan's mom and brother for dinner. Sunday we watched the first half of General Conference with some of Dan's family and then we headed out to drive to Vegas. This is what I did on my drive!
Vegas Day 1
The first day in Vegas we went out to this place called Red Rock. Gavin and Whitney live pretty close to it. It's a lot like Garden of the Gods in Colorado. It was beautiful!
Vegas Day 2
Most of the mornings I did homework, this week was one of the heaviest work loads of the semester... just my luck! I felt like that even though the material was hard I was getting it pretty well! The rest of the day we spent with Jordynn, Mike and their little girl Remi. We saw Jordynn & Mike a lot in Rexburg. They were in our ward and lived like 50ft from us. We missed them and it was so good to see them again! This was out first time meeting Remi too and she is a doll!
The funniest thing was that Remi loved Dan. Actually all babies just love Dan. I kid you not, they all end up just staring at him and love him! Remi was no different and was giving me a run for my money! I tried to get a picture, but this is the best one I could get. She would just stare and stare!
Oh and I just remembered this is also the day I left my purse at the sandwich shop we had lunch at. I didn't realize for about a half hour. Luckily one of the employees grabbed it before anyone else did. I was sooo grateful!
Vegas Day 3
We hung out and ran some errands in the morning, packed and relaxed. That night we met up with Dan's cousin Jimmy. His wife and kids were out of town so we went to dinner at this dive pizza place. They had pretty good wings for being a hole in the wall. Then Jimmy took us on a quick tour of the strip. After that we went to the Piano Bar to watch the dueling pianos. It was so awesome! Those girls really know their stuff. The whole show was just straight requests! I also realized that this was probably my first time in an actual bar- and of all places in Las Vegas! Haha the show was awesome though and I enjoyed my sprite :)

Look what we finally got! Whoo hoo. Master Dan.
Saturday we watched conference with my parents at Ryan & Kate's, like father like son right?

We stayed in Las Vegas for three days and stayed with our friends Whitney and Gavin. They were amazing with giving us a place to stay and letting us invade their space (with a 3 month old baby no less). Thank you Gavin and Whitney!

One thing that's definitely different about Las Vegas is that Casino's are like malls. At one point we were trying to go to this place called Rubio's for lunch and the only location was inside a Casino. Not something I'm used to. It's interesting to people watch and see people playing their slots at like 11am. I watch them and I don't quite understand the thrill. I guess everyone has their hobbies.. but I'm just glad mine doesn't involve throwing my money away.
That night we went out with Gavin, Whitney and baby Teague. We went to a place called Steak and Shake that was also, in a Casino (see a trend?). I love trying new places to eat, it was great!
I also saw my first scorpion. Luckily, it was a tiny one.

The guys went golfing so the girls went shopping. Later we all met up for dinner. We tried this Thai restaurant called Pin Kaow and it was delicious!
I stole this picture off Jordynn's facebook so you could see how cute Remi is!

Grand Canyon!
This was probably the coolest/least coolest day of the week. We left bright and early and got to the Grand Canyon around lunch. We went in and looked at the visitors center and the rim next to it. This was our first glimpse of the Grand Canyon and boy, it was grand. Then it was time for our helicopter tour. I was so excited!! I heard about it from a member at work. He's a regular and I mentioned we were going through the Grand Canyon. he mentioned he has a friend that does helicopter tours and that he'll get him his info. My first thought was yeah that's cool... and probably really expensive! Long story short, I got his contact info and he gave us a great deal! It was awesome!
THIS WAS SO TOTALLY WICKED! That's what I wanted to scream the whole time but all of our microphones were connected so if you said something, everyone heard it. But seriously I was just in awe the whole time. It was more grand than I ever could have imagined. I found myself thinking about God and the creation of the Earth. I found myself very grateful to live in such a beautiful world. So glad we got to experience this!
After the grand canyon we drove. And drove and drove. We originally wanted to stay in Albuquerque but because of the balloon festival hotels were expensive and we were still fine to keep driving. That's when I realized we were driving, and going to stay in Amarillo! Do you know what that means? I'll proudly have you know I was singing the whole way! "Is this the way to Amarillo?"... "Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la clap clap" I was cracking myself up that I HAD to show Dan what I was talking about. Ryan and Daryl, this is for you!
The next day we drove and then got to Texas and our apartment! Texas so far is treating us well! I'll do a separate post of that and if you're lucky I might even include pictures of our apartment!
