July

Brooks trying on his new goggles. Dan bought a pack of nice ones at Costco to see if that will help with Brooks and swim lessons. Maybe if waster doesn't get in his eyes as much when he goes under, it'll help. Fingers crossed! We had a busy and fun July starting out with my birthday and the 4th!

I got lucky that this First 4th of July onesie that fit an 8 months Brooks fit my 5 month Carson haha! How perfect. I took these pictures I couple days before the 4th when they were being really happy and smiley. Oh these boys are just so cute, I love them!

Carson's tongue and Brooks being goofy haha!

This baby has been quite sad this month- drooling and chewing on everything. I was hoping it was teeth finally cutting (it was but at the time I didn't know) so I finally made some popsicles out of milk for him to teethe on. He loved them! But it's always such a mess haha

I had to take a nakey picture of Carson because he's trying to crawl and when he starts moving he's going to lose all this chub! Later that day Brooks found a baby grasshopper and put it on Carson's head.

I had an awesome birthday and felt so loved (from afar) by friends and family. My parents sent me this. It was such a sweet surprise to find on my doorstep!

On my birthday I got to go to lunch with my best friend and of course we got sushi, yum! I was spoiled with love from my boys. We went swimming and Dan cooked delicious steaks for dinner. It was a great day!

Dan got this cake from Costco and it was so good! 5/5 stars, would reccomend.

On the 4th of July we got tickets to tour the new Globe Life Park. It was so cool and such a nice stadium. All of us Texans and sooo thankful for the overhead cover, it gets so hot in the summer.

In preparation for our trip to Bear Lake and flying, I thought I should have a back up mask for Brooks. He wanted a Cars masks and I made due with what I had and made it happen!

My cute boys!!

We got some strong eye brows in this family

BEAR LAKE

My family had a little reunion in Bear Lake. We flew into Salt Lake and saw some friends and family before we drove up to Bear Lake. Carson did really well on his first flights. I wish he slept longer but he still did good. Brooks did amazing and was a champ wearing his mask.

We spent the first couple days staying with our friends Kim & Trent and boy did we have a blast! They have 4 kids and our babies are days apart. We has such a fun weekend it was some of my favorite times! The first night we had our other friends Ryker & Courtney come over for dinner. We ate and talked and caught up and the kids played and played and played so hard. Just ran wild outside which was amazing. The weather was BEAUTIFUL. I was so excited to get out of the Texas HEAT. We finally put the kids to bed and they CRASHED. Brooks and Carson shared a room and sometimes I was even sleeping in the queen been with Brooks because it was easier. They both did great but sometimes B would wake up confused where he was haha.

The nest morning we drove out to Midway and took the kids to w dirt bike park. They have a small loop that the kids did and some of them even went up to the bigger tracks. At first Brooks was not into it but after watching his friends he got the courage and ended up doing amazing. Peer pressure if so good for Brooks sometimes.

Brooks refused to be in this picture. The stinker!

The kids were soooo dusty but they had so much fun. We found out on this trip that Carson HATES his carseat. If the drive was over 20 minutes he SCREAMED. This was new to us so sometimes I jumped in the backseat and even then that didn't always solve it. We drove home, had lunch and got the kids who needed naps down for nap. When they woke up we met Courtney & Ryker again for a hike up Payson Canyon. It was a nice easy hike but busy with lots of people.

The only picture we got of Brooks because it was taken so quickly before he could say no haha!

We drove just a little bit farther up to Payson lake and we walked around the lake while the kids biked. We picked up a bunch of pizza on the way home and ate and let the kids play some more. Brooks seriously had so much fun and talks about it often. Courtney and Kim's boys were got good to play with Brooks and they had some many fun toys and things to play with.

Sunday Morning we found of their cat had kittens! What a fun surprise! She ended up having TEN which I guess is a lot of a mama cat to have. They were soo cute and sweet to look at and hold.

We had church at home with Kim and Trent where Brooks was a know it all and knew all the answers. It floored Dan and I because church at home doesn't always go that smoothly with a toddler. We looked at each other shocked like 'he is learning something!' After church we went to see some of Dan's family, his Aunt Ruth Ann and his cousin Chantel and her family. It was so nice to have lunch and talk with them. The kids played and we all talked. That evening we went back to Kim and Trent's for one last night before we got up and drove to Bear Lake the next day.

The drive up was beautiful! Carson survived but he was not a fan of the drive. We stayed at the Mama Bear Cabin with my parents and my brother's family. The cabin had nice shade and chairs outside, a park, lots of grass to run around, a fire pit, picnic tables- it was great!

That first day we just played, explored, relaxed and then we went to a beach in the afternoon. The water was FREEZING and it was amazing. My goal for the trip was to be COLD and I got my wish. It was hot outside but that lake water was chilllly.

Ryan caught a crawdad, how cool!

And that's what we did for the next 3 days, played at the beach! It was the best! We got a pass to Rendezvous Beach on the south side and went there everyday from 10-3pm. We rented jet-skis, paddleboards and kayaks. Carson was a great beach baby and liked eating the sand. He did get grumpy when he was tired and just wanted his bed but we usually persuaded him to sleep.

We spent out evenings playing in the yard, doing s'mores, playing games and having lots of fun. Evvy and Brooks had so much fun playing together.

When we went out on the jetski we saw lots of BIG fish and some baby birds.

The pictures speak for themselves when I say we had a great time and we fully enjoyed the lake and spending time with family. Dan and I even snuck in a date in there! How lucky are we! This was my first time at Bear Lake and I totally enjoyed it!

When we got home from Bear Lake this cutie turned 6 months and we started some solids! It took a couple days but he is a big fan of food.

Brooks got a new Hotwheels bike with training wheels. He has a love/hate relationship with it but we'll work and it and he'll get it eventually.

Carson had a small reaction to eggs. Brooks did too as a baby but not this big. However he wasn't bothered by it, it went away quickly and we've since tried eggs again and no reaction.

I find him wearing his helmet all the time now

Brooks has been doing great at Swim lessons and is improving so much!

Trying to work out with a baby

These beef ribs turned out amazing!
